Camp Seneca Lake is proud to offer our CSL in Israel program for rising juniors, following the senior camper summer. This immersive three-week Israel travel program is designed to expose participants to the beauty, breadth, and depth of Israel from the inside out.
Participants travel the entire country – hiking, touring, tasting, learning, and exploring. They explore Israel past and present, and religious, political, geographical, and demographic / social diversity of all kinds. The group also spends time meeting with many Israelis, and traveling with Israeli peers on the bus! The itinerary typically includes time in all major cities and regions of the country, as well as special time in Modi’in, the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester’s “P2G” partnership community in Israel.
By the end of the trip the hope is that all participants have had many opportunities to explore their personal relationships with Israel – both as the spiritual and historical homeland of the Jewish People and as a modern Jewish nation-state – in ways that are personal, meaningful, authentic, and lasting.

Financial Assistance for International Travel
All participants based in the US and Canada are eligible for RootOne vouchers up to $3,000. Those from Rochester are additionally eligible for the Gift of Israel program and scholarships and grants through the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester, as well as the Farash Foundation’s Freddy Fund 360 grant. Participants from other North American communities might be eligible for grants through their home Federations and/or synagogues. We are working with our tour provider to ensure the ground trip is financially accessible for our Israeli families as well, with more info to come.
